Popeye the Sailor Man
As the summer begins to come to a close, camping trips have become more frequent here, and sailing is becomming one of the more common items on the itinerary. A few days ago, dad went to check on a sailboat that was up for sale in Astoria called a West Wight Potter. It was a very good deal for what it was, and after four or so days of fighting off the urge to buy it, he finally gave in. It's a 15 foot boat that is very practical and relatively easy to rig, or so I'm told. The cool part about it is that it has a cabin, that is spacious enough to sleep about two. It also has alot of space for storage and will work well for river trips, that will most likely take place here in the future.
I was taking pictures by myself, so as you can imagine, it was hard to get a picture that adaquately demonstrated the amount of room in the cabin. The camera was also on its last leg of battery, but I did my best. Notice the look of comfortability combined with absolute excitment as I sit it the spacious inter-compartment of the boat.

Gingerbread Man
Hi, I am a gingerbread man. In my 12 years of life I have not yet learned what my name is (you will have to ask Andrew, my creator). I have always lived in one place, a refrigerator, and have hung on for dear life in many different cities and countries. First found a home in an apartment of a bunch of girls in Utah, then moved to Asia where I was hot and sticky all hours. Thankfully I was moved back to Oregon, but didn't stay there for long. After a few years I was stuck in a box again and ended up in Kentucky, and a few years later made it back to Asia. I have to say I am the happiest now I have ever been. Even if I do have some dust and grease on my belt and headband. There is a little blond boy who thinks I am pretty special. I am waiting for the day he decides to put me in the oven to see if I come to life. He won't be able to catch me, I will be on my way back to Oregon!

A New Found Hobby of Andrew
I suppose I will be the one to launch this blog with the first real post. I have recently begun to golf a little more frequently and last night, Ronnie graciously offered to let me have a full set of clubs that he had, collecting dust in his basement. In addition to giving me needed equipment, he also was kind enough to offer some "in livingroom" swing instruction that resulted in a nearly dislodged ceiling fan as well as an understandably terrified four year old. Needless to say, it was discovered that the best course of action was to put the driver back in the bag. Dillon Lamping and I have been going golfing about once a week on "ten dollar tuesdays" in Gearhart, and after scavanging for balls, a previously thought expensive hobby has become affordable. Adam and I have also been playing soccer more frequently on my days off which is where we are headed now. I will be giving Dad, Ronnie and Ashlee, and possibly grandparents the log-in information so they will be able to post on here as well.
Christening of our Family's Blog
Good Morning, it is a somewhat beautiful day here on the coast with speckled non-precipitous clouds looming in the misty sky. A perfect day for....well for starting a blog you might say. I wish I could talk more; however I have to go to the dentist to get the stitches removed from my recently pulled wisdom tooth. One of the other Mr. or Mrs. Dugans will probably be on later to update after I send them the link.
